We warmly welcome enquiries from families interested in joining Temple Guiting Church of England School. The application process depends on whether your child is starting Reception or needs to join the school during the academic year.

In-Year Admissions

An in-year admission is an application for a school place outside the usual admissions round, for example, if your family moves into the area or your child needs to change schools during the school year.

Gloucestershire County Council does not coordinate in-year admissions. Applications should be made directly to the school using the county council’s application form.

How to Apply

1. Visit the Gloucestershire County Council In-Year Admissions page and download the current application form.

2. Complete a separate application form for each child.

3. Email the completed form to admin@templeguiting.gloucs.sch.uk.

We aim to respond to in-year applications within 5 school days. Gloucestershire County Council advises schools to respond within 10–15 school days.

If Your Application Is Successful

If a place is available and your application is successful, we will contact you in writing to confirm the offer and explain the next steps, including any forms to complete and arrangements for your child’s start date.

Please respond by the deadline stated in your offer letter. If you do not respond, the offer may be withdrawn in accordance with the applicable admissions arrangements.

If Your Application Is Unsuccessful

If we are unable to offer your child a place, we will notify you in writing and explain the reason for the decision. You will also be advised of your right to appeal and where to find further support with securing a school place.

Your Right to Appeal

If your application is refused, you have the right to appeal to an independent school admission appeals panel. The appeal process is separate from the school and its governing body.

Reception Admissions – September 2027

If your child is due to start Reception in September 2027, you must apply through Gloucestershire County Council, even if your child attends a local nursery or pre-school, has a sibling at the school, or you have already expressed an interest in a place.

Applications for Reception places open on 2 November 2026 and must be submitted by midnight on 15 January 2027.

How to Apply for Reception

Applications can be made online through Gloucestershire County Council School Admissions.

We recommend listing all your preferred schools in your chosen order, as a place at your first preference cannot be guaranteed. You must submit an application even if you have previously contacted the school or have an older child attending.
